Steps to add second physical drive into windows server
Login to windows server RDP
Go to Computer management>>click disk management.
You can see the drive was detected and it offline. Refer the screenshot. Now initialize the disk choose the default MBR mode. click ok.
Now the disk came online.
right click on the unallocated part >> see new simple volume >> next and you can see Simple volume wizard pop up
maximum disk space in MB – – 953687
Minimum disk space in MB —8
simple volume size in MB — 953867
Above all are default you can check and verify it. Click next.
Now Drive letter or path
Assign the drive letter, what you need A, B, C, D, E, …… By default C letter assigned to drive which which OS was installed in main drive. Click next now you see Format partition.
Format this volume with the following settings
Fie system – NTFS
Allocation unit size: Default
Volume label : By default is new volume you can modify to any data or any name backup.
Here i labelled Backup
Tick Check Box perform quick format. click next Now you see completing the new simple volume wizard.
Click Finish.
Now you can go to this PC , you see the second added drive.
